Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Superintelligence Lab (MSL), announced earlier this year, was an ambitious project aimed at taking the lead in the AI race. Zuckerberg sought to recruit top AI talent by offering extraordinary salaries—ranging from several million dollars up to $1 billion—to lure experts from rivals such as OpenAI, DeepMind, and Apple. However, despite these lavish offers, reports suggest that AI researchers have been leaving Meta. Zuckerberg also remarked that he himself is willing to take new risks, having previously worked for more than seven years at Google Brain, DeepMind, and Meta.
