Palo Alto Networks announced that it will acquire Protect AI, an AI security startup. Since its founding in 2022, Protect AI has rapidly established itself in the field of AI security posture management (AI-SPM), strengthening its capabilities in protecting emerging technologies such as generative AI and agent security. This acquisition is part of Palo Alto Networks’ strategy to accelerate the realization of its vision for the newly launched AI security platform, Prisma AIRS. Prisma AIRS offers a wide range of features, including AI model scanning, risk assessment, runtime security, and AI agent security. Protect AI has secured both technological and financial strength through its acquisition of SydeLabs and a Series B funding round last year. With this acquisition, Palo Alto Networks plans to further enhance its visibility, management, and security capabilities for AI/ML environments.

Protect AI는 2022년 설립 이후 AI 보안 태세 관리(AI-SPM) 분야에서 빠르게 입지를 다지며, 생성형 AI와 에이전트 보안 등 신기술 보호 역량을 강화해왔다. 이번 인수는 팔로알토 네트웍스가 새롭게 선보인 AI 보안 플랫폼 ‘Prisma AIRS’의 비전을 빠르게 실현하기 위한 전략의 일환이다.
