Google announced four major feature updates to AI Mode including Search Live video, Canvas, PDF upload, and more. AI Mode web will support image and PDF file uploads, with uploaded files being analyzed and cross-referenced with relevant web information. A Canvas feature similar to the Gemini app will allow users to build plans and organize information across multiple sessions in a dynamic side panel. Search Live is adding video input functionality through Google Lens's new "Live" tab alongside "Search" and "Translate" options. AI Mode is also coming to Google Lens in desktop Chrome, accessible through an "Ask Google about this page" chip in the address bar. These features will roll out to US users enrolled in the AI Mode Labs experiment over the coming weeks. Future updates will include support for more file types including Google Drive integration.
