Application delivery and security specialist F5 has laid off more than 100 employees as part of a reorganization of its product organization. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed in Washington state, the layoffs affect a total of 106 positions at its Seattle headquarters and Liberty Lake office. F5 eliminated certain roles and reassigned some employees to strategic growth areas in order to better align resources with its top business priorities and key customer needs. The layoffs reportedly include software engineers. The company has been focusing on multi‑cloud networking, artificial intelligence (AI), and API security since last year, and in February unveiled its “ADC 3.0” strategy—aimed at strengthening product competitiveness—which integrates BIG‑IP, distributed cloud services, and NGINX technology into a single platform.
