Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has launched a stablecoin payment service for Grab’s payment platform, GrabPay, merchants in Singapore. This marks the first time that GrabPay merchants in the country will be able to directly accept stablecoin payments. Customers can make payments using USDC or USDT, which will first be converted into StraitsX’s Singapore dollar-backed stablecoin XSGD. Merchants will then receive the final amount in Singapore dollars. Industry observers see this service as a potential catalyst for broader adoption of digital assets in Singapore.
가상자산 거래소 OKX가 싱가포르에서 그랩(Grab)의 결제 플랫폼 ‘그랩페이(GrabPay)’ 가맹점을 대상으로 스테이블코인 결제 서비스를 출시했다. 이번 서비스 도입으로 싱가포르 내 그랩페이 가맹점이 직접 스테이블코인 결제를 받는 것은 이번이 처음이다. 이용자는 USDC나 USDT로 결제할 수 있으며, 결제된 금액은 먼저 스트레이츠X(StraitsX)가 발행한 싱가포르 달러 연동 스테이블코인 XSGD로 변환된다. 이후 가맹점은 최종 금액을 싱가포르 달러로 지급받는다. 업계는 이번 서비스가 싱가포르 내 디지털 자산 채택 확대의 신호탄이 될 것으로 보고 있다.
