This organization is expected to coordinate the exploration, adoption, and use of AI, AR, and VR technologies across the entire company. Jamie Voris, former CTO of the studio technology division, will lead this organization and report directly to Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment. The company plans to expand this group to about 100 employees. Disney stated that this organization will not take over existing AI and XR projects, but instead support other teams developing related technologies and ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals. Co-chairman Bergman explained the background of the new organization's establishment, saying, "The advancement of AI and XR will continue to impact consumer experiences, creative efforts, and business." Disney has been actively responding to technological changes, such as streamlining VFX production by utilizing a digital set called 'The Volume' and the Unreal Engine.
