Researchers have discovered a way to track WiFi devices through walls. The Wi-Peep technique identifies the location of a device within 3.3ft just by exploiting WiFi devices' automatic contact responses. A thief using the drone could find vulnerable areas in a home or office by checking for the absence of security cameras and other signs that a room is monitored.

AMD, RNDA 3GPU 기반 RX 7900 XTX 공개

AMD has announced the RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT graphics cards. The cards are the first to use its new architecture, RDNA 3, which is based on a chiplet design. The company says the cards are up to 1.7 times faster at 4K resolution than its previous generation. Both cards will launch on December 13th, with reference cards and board partners set to ship on that date.

Amazon is pausing hiring for corporate roles in its corporate workforce. The company had already announced a similar freeze last month for its retail business. The move comes amid a worsening economic outlook and after it hired rapidly in recent years. Amazon will backfill roles to replace employees who leave for new opportunities, HR chief says.

DALL-E 2, OpenAI's image-generating AI system, is now available as an API. Developers can build the system into their apps, websites and services. The API will allow users to generate new images from text prompts or edit existing images. As before, users are bound by OpenAI’s terms of service.

Sony has revealed the price of its next-gen virtual reality headset, PS VR2. The headset will be available on February 22nd and will cost $550 in the U.S. and $600 in Europe. In Japan, the price will be ¥74,980. Sony has also announced 11 new games that will be coming to the headset.

South Korea's Wemade has raised $46 million from Microsoft, Shinhan Asset Management and Kiwoom Securities. Wemade is best known for its sleeper hit title The Legend of Mir, which at one point had more than 200 million signups. Microsoft is also an investor in ConsenSys, the firm behind MetaMask wallet and enterprise solutions such as Infura.

Google is expanding its flood forecasting and wildfire tracking services globally. The company launched Flood Hub, a tool that lets users look up forecasts for 20 countries. Google is also rolling out improved wildfire tracking to a few more countries after piloting the program in the US. Google started using AI to predict floods in India and Bangladesh in 2018.
