Netflix is seeking to amend its programming deals with major entertainment studios to allow the streaming giant to put content on an advertising-supported version of the service, people familiar with the matter said. Among the studios Netflix has begun talks with are Warner Bros., which makes the hit stalker drama “You”; Universal, producer of the dark comedy “Russian Doll”; and Sony SONY Pictures Television, producer of “The Crown” and “Cobra Kai,” the people said.

The first phase of experiments with a wholesale digital euro has been completed, and Phase 2 experiments will begin this year, Banque de France governor François Villeroy de Galhau said Tuesday. Four or five new experiments are expected to be launched. New experiments will involve testing a prototype digital euro with private actors and other central banks in preparation for the 2023 implementation of the pilot regime. Villeroy de Galhau stressed the importance of interoperability between DLT and the traditional system. DLT will complement rather than replace traditional infrastructure, he said.

As the iPhone 14 launch approaches, analyst Ross Young reported today that production of the iPhone 14 Max is behind schedule. The iPhone 14 Max is expected to be Apple’s first-ever 6.7-inch iPhone that isn’t a “Pro” model, and that is reportedly causing some supply chain difficulties. According to Young, panel shipments for the iPhone 14 Max are still lagging far behind the iPhone 14 Pro Max. In a post on Twitter today, Young said that panel shipments are still “way behind” where they should be. Young’s data is based on supply chain information through the month of August.

Canoo and Walmart are customizing the LDV for last-mile deliveries, with added cargo space instead of a front passenger seat and slide-out shelves in the back designed to fit totes used by the retail giant.

Nikon will continue to produce and distribute its existing SLR models, but will focus development of new models entirely on mirrorless. Nikkei notes that Nikon’s SLR cameras were “widely used by professional cameramen for more than 60 years and have come to be seen as synonymous with the Japanese company.”

PiP is now available to Premium subscribers globally and free users in the United States. It's not live on several devices we checked today.
