F5 will acquire U.S. startup CalypsoAI to strengthen its artificial intelligence security capabilities. The acquisition is valued at $180 million, mostly in cash, and is expected to close by the end of September. Founded in 2018, CalypsoAI specializes in enterprise AI security and offers real-time protection for AI applications and models against threats such as prompt injection and jailbreaking. It also provides safeguards to prevent sensitive data leakage and policy violations. Through this acquisition, F5 plans to enhance the AI security capabilities of its Application Delivery and Security Platform. Earlier this year, the company also acquired security startup Fletch in June and real-time network observability firm MantisNet in August, expanding its security business.
