Elon Musk's neuroscience startup Neuralink is recruiting participants for its first clinical trial to implant an actual computer chip in their brains. On its official blog, Neuralink announced that it is recruiting patients with quadriplegia due to cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) to participate in the trial. The trial involves surgically implanting a brain-computer interface (BCI) chip in the brain. "The initial goal of the BCI chip is to allow people to control a computer mouse or keyboard using only their thoughts," Neuralink said.
