New York City has announced that it has shut down some popular city-run TikTok accounts, joining a wave of state and federal agencies that have banned TikTok on government-owned devices, citing security concerns. "We determined that it posed a security threat to the city's technology network," the city said in a statement. City agencies have 30 days to remove the app, and employees will not be able to access TikTok and its website from city-owned devices and networks.
