소프트(MS)의 웹브라우저 ‘익스플로러(IE)’가 출시 27년 만에 역사 속으로 사라진다. MS는 15일 대부분 익스플로러 11 버전의 기술지원을 종료한다. 15일 이후에 익스플로러를 실행하면 MS의 최신 브라우저 ‘엣지’로 자동 전환된다.

Microsoft will retire Internet Explorer on Wednesday. The company first debuted the browser 27 years ago. Users will be directed to the company's more recent browser, Microsoft Edge. Edge was introduced in 2015 and has gradually phased out Internet Explorer since then. The browser will be retired for certain versions of Windows 10 in June 2022.

The software giant said in a securities filing Thursday that it now expects fiscal fourth-quarter sales of between $51.94 billion and $52.74 billion, down from its prior guidance of $52.4 billion to $53.2 billion. The quarter ends June 30.

Microsoft has officially announced the Surface Laptop Go 2, which replaces the original model. The new model is currently available for preorder.
