Meta removed a Chinese influence network that attempted to inflame political tensions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The accounts impersonated Americans to target people on both sides of the political aisle over hot-button issues. The activity marked a shift for Chinese influence operations which typically seek to shape public opinion abroad.

Taiwan's presidential website went down Tuesday evening due to a cyberattack. The attack originated outside of Taiwan and saw the website bombarded with 200 times the amount of traffic it normally sees. Pelosi is the highest-ranking US official to visit Taiwan in 25 years. China warned there would be ‘resolute and strong measures’ if Pelosi went ahead with the trip.
