Volkswagen of America and Audi will recycle old battery packs. The company will bring them to its Carson City, Nevada, factory. Redwood Materials is a startup that has expanded into the battery materials business. It has deals with Ford, Amazon, Toyota and other companies in the U.S.

폭스바겐이 전기차 배터리 부문에 200억유로를 투자하는 등 전기차 제조뿐만 아니라 관련 인프라 확보에도 전력을 다하고 있다. 2030년까지 유럽을 포함해 신규 배터리 제조 공장 6개소를 구축할 계획이며 이 중 첫 번째 공장이 독일 잘츠기터에서 착공을 시작했다.

Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group started building its first plant to produce electric-car batteries Wednesday, the contract electronics manufacturer’s latest step into the booming electric-vehicle industry.
