Google is accelerating its move toward a future where online users don't need passwords to securely log into their accounts. Google announced on its official blog that it is making "passkeys" the default option for personal Google accounts. "We're making passkeys the default option after receiving positive feedback from our users," the company said, adding that it's a secure and fast alternative that eliminates the need for users to remember passwords. Passkey is a technology that allows users to access Google-enabled apps and sites without entering a password on their computer or phone. Instead of entering a password, users can log in using facial recognition, fingerprint, or a screen lock personal identification number (PIN).

Netflix's crackdown on password sharing has finally begun rolling out to U.S. subscribers and other global markets after a delay. Netflix had originally planned to introduce "paid sharing" to U.S. subscribers in the first quarter of this year, but after cancelations in markets that had already begun the change, the company pushed the start date back to the summer. Under the new rules, U.S. subscribers will have to pay $7.99 per month to remove someone from their Netflix account or for an additional membership for someone outside of their primary household.

애플을 비롯해 구글, MS, 아마존, 삼성전자 등이 기존 계정에 비밀번호를 입력해 로그인 하는 방식을 버리고 올해 내에 패스키라는 새로운 기술을 적용할 계획이다. 패스키를 이용하면 비밀번호 없이 공개 키와 지문, 얼굴인식 등의 생체정보로 로그인할 수 있다.
