Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken a hardline stance against his employees working from home, In an email apparently sent to the company’s executive staff with the subject line “Remote work is no longer acceptable,” the CEO said employees must spend a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office, or else “depart Tesla.” He said this should be a “main Tesla office,” and not a “remote branch office.”

Apple's director of machine learning has left the company over its return to work policy. Ian Goodfellow joined Apple in 2019 after six years at Google. Apple is requiring employees to work in person three days a week starting on May 23. This is the start of a phased-in approach to the company's in-person work plan. Apple employees started working from home on April 11 after a two-year absence.
