Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that the company is building a new factory in Shanghai, China, to complement production at its Megafactory in California, USA. Tesla aims to produce around 10,000 Megapacks per year in Shanghai, with a total storage capacity of around 40 GWh. Megapacks are large-capacity batteries that can store electricity from solar panels and wind turbines. Musk continues to invest in solar and battery businesses to expand Tesla's revenue streams as an energy infrastructure company.
