Apple is using internal chatbots to help employees "prototype future features, summarize text and answer questions based on learned data," Bloomberg reported today. It's not yet clear what Apple hopes to do with its generative chatbot project on the customer-facing side, but it at least sheds some light on the uses of internal chatbots. Apple is also exploring ways to expand the use of generative AI within the organization, with one possibility being to provide chatbots to AppleCare support staff to better help customers with issues.

재시 CEO는 “대부분의 사람들이 응용(애플리케이션)에 초점을 맞추고 있다고 생각한다. 챗GPT와 같은 것들이 모든 사람들의 AI에 대한 인지도를 높였다. 하지만 나는 생성 AI가 세 개의 매크로 계층을 가지고 있다고 생각한다. 나는 그들 모두가 정말 크고 중요하다고 생각한다”고 말했다. 그러면서 지난 수개월간 세상을 떠들썩하게 만든 생성 AI(GAI) 챗봇을 둘러싼 유행현상에 대해 “‘실질 사이클(substance cycle)’이전의 ‘과장된 사이클(hype cycle)’”이라고 깎아내렸다.

대만의 매체 디지타임스가 8일(현지시간) 애플이 인공지능 개발을 재검토한다고 보도했다. 보고서에 따르면 ChatGPT로 촉발된 생성형 AI에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 애플, 메타, 아마존과 같은 주요 빅테크 기업들이 생성형 AI 기술을 개발하는 방식에 대한 재평가가 이루어지고 있다고 전했다.
