Volocopter conducted its first crewed public test flight in Italy Thursday. The flight launched from a vertiport built at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport. The test was conducted with the blessings of Italian authorities. The Aeroporti di Roma is working toward commercial operations between the airport and Rome by 2024.

Wisk Aero has unveiled its go-to-market aircraft, a four-passenger autonomous air taxi. The startup is pursuing a self-flying-first approach to reaching scale in the advanced air mobility industry. The Gen 6 eVTOL has a cruising speed of 120 knots, a 90-mile range and can reach altitudes of 2,500 to 4,000 feet.
