Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is under federal investigation for potential violation of U.S. sanctions by allowing users in Iran and elsewhere to buy and sell digital tokens, the New York Times reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter. The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control has been investigating Kraken since 2019 and is expected to impose a fine, according to the report.

7월들어 암호화폐(가상자산) 시장이 점진적인 회복세를 보이는 가운데 이더리움(ETH)의 상승세가 뚜렷하다. 이더리움은 지난 7월 13일 이후 2주 연속 상승세를 보이고 있다. 13일 1023달러, 1주일 전인 지난 18일에는 1352달러 내외였던 것과 비교하면 일주일 단위로 20~30%씩 거래가가 뛰고 있다.
