Blizzard says its servers are under a "mass DDoS attack" following launch of the game. Players have reported unexpected server errors and difficulties joining games. Some players claim to be experiencing queues of up to 40,000 other players. Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra had earlier thanked players for their patience and pledged to "get [them] into the fun"

October 2nd is the last day to play Overwatch prime. The game will go offline for 24 hours to make way for the release of Crystal overwatch 2. The assault game mode and six-player earthshatter mode are among the things going away.

Activision Blizzard announced Sunday that it will release Overwatch 2 on October 4th. The game will be free to play, unlike the original, which was a paid title. It will be released on PC, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
