In March, the World Startup Convention (WSC), a three-day event billed as the "world's largest funding festival" in India's capital city of New Delhi, came to a screeching halt. Startup representatives who had paid to attend the event demanded that the organizers ensure that investors were present, saying, "We won't pitch at an event without investors." Eventually, the organizers filed a complaint and some of the disgruntled startup representatives were arrested. To this day, the organizers are still unable to disclose how much funding the startups that attended the event received.
