Texas said it has approved a plan to require electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to include technology from Tesla (TSLA.O) in order to qualify for federal funding. Until now, Tesla's Kennute redesign of its chargers has been met with opposition due to the amount of time required for testing. This makes Texas the biggest beneficiary of a $5 billion program to electrify U.S. highways. UK government has closed its £300 million electric car rebate program. This will leave the UK as the only large European country without any incentives for electric cars. Automakers there say that while the decision was not a surprise, it is still regarded as “hugely disappointing”
