폭스바겐, 테슬라보다 싼 전기차 출시

Volkswagen unveiled its affordable, mass-market electric vehicle in the form of a concept called the ID. 2all. With a starting price of 25,000 euros ($26,600) and an estimated range of 450 kilometers (279 miles), the Golf-looking electric hatchback is intended to be that most elusive thing: a plug-in vehicle for the people.

China’s BYD having risen over the past decade to become one of the top global sellers of electric passenger cars, is now plotting a big push into battery-electric commercial vehicles. Over the next three years, BYD plans to introduce new commercial-vehicle models in markets including China, Europe and Japan, according to people familiar with the company’s plans. It has mapped out a budget of more than $20 billion for its commercial-vehicle unit through 2025, with major outlays planned for research, product development and expansion of production capacity, the people said.

What’s more, vehicle reservations came in at 28,000 units as of Feb. 21, down from 34,000 reported on Nov. 8. Management also said it isn’t going to give reservation figures going forward. Shares closed down 11.9% at $8.79 on Thursday, while the S&P 500SPX +0.53% and Nasdaq CompositeCOMP +0.72% gained 0.5% and 0.7%, respectively.

테슬라의 작년 전기차 인도 실적이 당초 연간 50% 성장을 달성하겠다는 회사의 목표치에 미달한 것으로 나타났다. CNBC 및 월스트리트저널(WSJ)에 따르면 테슬라는 2일(현지시간) 2022년 한 해 동안 고객에게 131만대를 인도했다고 발표했다. 이는 전년과 비교해 40% 늘어난 인도 대수 수치이며, 생산량(137만대)은 2021년 대비 47% 증가했다. 이에 CNBC는 전기차 인도 대수 증가율은 테슬라가 당초 제시했던 50%에 못 미치면서 목표 달성에 실패했다고 전했다.

It's been a decade since the first Tesla EV made its commercial debut in the U.S. Acceptance at the newfangled technology was slow at first but, over the past ten years, electric vehicles have become a daily sight in most parts of the country. The International Energy Agency in January reported that EVs had managed to triple their market share between 2019 and 2021 with 6.6 million units sold globally last year.
