Plugin vehicles are all the rage in the Chinese auto market. plugin vehicles scored 458,000 registrations in March, up 118% year over year (YoY) and the second best monthly result ever. Full electrics (BEVs) alone accounted for 21% of the country’s auto sales! This pulled the 2022 share to 21% (16% BEV) and China will be BEV-based by 2025.
