Xiaolang Zhang pleaded guilty to a felony charge of theft of trade secrets. He was arrested in 2018 at San Jose International Airport as he was trying to board a last-minute flight to China. Zhang was accused of transferring 25-page document that includes engineering schematics of a circuit board for the company's self-driving vehicle. He faces up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

In the city of Guanzhou, it is now possible to pay for public bus rides with the digital yuan (e-CNY) CBDC on 10 transit routes. He also claimed that Twitter misled users and US regulators about gaps in its security. Twitter says his allegations are inaccurate and inconsistent. It says he was sacked in January for ineffective leadership and poor performance.

Apple is reportedly in talks to produce Apple Watches, HomePods and MacBooks in Vietnam. The company has dealt with supply chain disruptions because of Covid-lockdowns in China, so it has been looking to expand production elsewhere. Vietnam already produces some of Apple’s AirPods and the company reportedly began to move iPad production to the country in June.

The attack originated outside of Taiwan and saw the website bombarded with 200 times the amount of traffic it normally sees. Pelosi is the highest-ranking US official to visit Taiwan in 25 years. China warned there would be ‘resolute and strong measures’ if Pelosi went ahead with the trip.

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba and electric vehicle startup Xpeng are opening a computing center to train software for driverless cars, the two companies said Tuesday. Xpeng will use technology from Alibaba’s cloud division for its computing needs. For Xpeng, the move marks its ambitions to pull ahead in the fiercely competitive electric vehicle market in China and attempt to challenge giants Tesla and Warren Buffett-backed BYD. Alibaba, an investor in Xpeng, has been trying to bolster its cloud computing division amid a slowdown in its core commerce business.
