당근마켓으로 확보한 당근의 이용자 특성은 여느 플랫폼과 다르다. 가입자 4000만명 이상, 월 활성이용자(MAU) 2000만에 달하며 이들이 하루평균 당근에 체류하는 시간은 20분이 넘는다. 당근 집계에 따르면 (2023년 기준) 한해 ‘이웃 간 연결’은 1억 6400만건이 넘고, ‘무료나눔’은 1000만건을 넘어섰다. 그렇게 당근은 지난해 연매출 1276억원을 달성하며 새로운 전기를 맞이했다.

중국 동영상 공유 플랫폼 ‘틱톡'의 입지가 갈수록 줄어들고 있다. 미국 연방정부와 유럽연합(EU) 집행위원회에 이어 캐나다 연방정부도 중국 동영상 공유 플랫폼인 틱톡 사용을 금지하기로 했다. 캐나다 매체 내셔널 포스트는 현지시간 27일 연방 정부가 공무원들에게 내려보낸 공문을 인용해 28일부터 캐나다 정부에 등록된 모든 기기에서 틱톡 사용이 금지된다고 보도했다.
