After the European Commission tried to block cryptocurrency holdings as part of broader banking reforms, reports have emerged that it will ease conditions to make it easier for commercial lenders to hold stablecoins and tokenized assets. According to a leaked document obtained by CoinDesk, shows an attempt to soften the hardline stance of the European Parliament, which in January said banks would have to issue one euro of capital for every euro of cryptocurrency they hold, anticipating a global standard.
