Microsoft has announced that it will stop supporting standalone Cortana apps for Windows at the end of 2023. The introduction of the Windows co-pilot signaled the end of Cortana on Microsoft's desktop OS. Cortana launched in 2014 as a voice assistant for Windows mobile devices. It was released before Amazon's Alexa and was expected to compete with Apple's Siri, but it never achieved the same level of recognition and popularity.
