Amazon will build five new data centers in Oregon after state officials approved tax breaks worth an estimated $1 billion. Local officials in the county recently approved tax breaks estimated at about $1 billion, including an incentive that exempts the company from paying nearly three-quarters of the property taxes paid by other businesses in the area, according to the Associated Press. Amazon's AWS cloud business generates more than $85 billion in annual revenue and holds a dominant share of the global cloud market.
