Reuters reported on December 4, 2023, that Intel, an American semiconductor company, won an appeal in a patent infringement lawsuit against VLSI Technology, overturning a $2.8 billion verdict. According to Reuters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit overturned a lower court ruling that ordered Intel to pay VLSI Technology $2.18 billion in damages. This is one of the largest patent law rulings in U.S. history.
