U.S. chipmaker Nvidia surpassed the $1 trillion market capitalization mark on Tuesday. If it holds above $404.86 per share by the close, Nvidia will cross the $1 trillion mark on a closing basis. Nvidia joins Apple, Microsoft (MS), Google parent Alphabet, and Amazon as the only five companies on the New York Stock Exchange with a $1 trillion market capitalization. Globally, the number is in the single digits, and Nvidia is the only semiconductor company.
