Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, one of the godfathers of artificial intelligence (AI), a field in which computers learn on their own without human help, has left Google, where he worked for more than a decade, to speak out about the dangers of AI. Referring to the current competition between Google and Microsoft in AI, he said that international regulation of AI research should be introduced, all because of the 'dangers of AI'.
