Bank of International Settlements says 90% of central banks are investigating feasibility of adopting central bank digital currencies. BIS report highlighted ability of current sovereign fiat money to provide price stability and public oversight. Report did highlight crypto's programmable nature and borderless elements of decentralized finance as potential benefits.
