Apple has announced that it has acquired BIS Records, a leading Swedish classical music label. BIS label president Robert von Bahr said "We are delighted to announce that Apple has recently acquired our record label, which will be integrated into the Apple Music Classical and Platoon music services." BIS Records was founded in 1973 and focuses on early and contemporary classical music. "BIS Records and Apple share a fundamental belief in the importance of preserving sound quality," said von Bahr, who recently turned 80, and called the iPhone maker's surround sound spatial audio technology "something I've been following with interest."
