BMW is offering a subscription to turn on heated seats in its cars for £15 per month. The company says customers can enable all hardware features for a one-time payment if they prefer. Subscriptions are available via BMW's ConnectedDrive online store and are activated remotely.

BMW has officially opened its new 15 billion yuan ($2.2 billion) factory in Shenyang, China with a strong focus on electric vehicles. BMW has some catching up to do in China, the world’s largest electric vehicle market, where U.S. rival Tesla and domestic players such as Warren Buffett-backed BYD, dominate sales. BMW is aiming for more than a quarter of its sales in China to be all electric by 2025.

BMW is temporarily shipping some new vehicles without support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company changed chip suppliers and the new chips aren't compatible with the two features yet. BMW says an OTA update will be available by the end of June at the latest. This isn't the first time BMW has had to make sacrifices due to chip shortages.

BMW today announced its new i7 xDrive60, the first all-electric version of its full-size luxury sedan. For $119,300. Speed is capped at 149 mph and the company promises a range of up to 300 miles. Talking about charging, the i7 xDrive60 will be able to AC power at up to 11 kW and DC power up to 195 kW. You should be able to charge to 80% in about 34 minutes at a DC fast charger, BMW says, and 10 minutes of DC fast charging will give you about 80 miles of range.
