Google is testing its medical AI chatbot, Med-PaLM 2, at the Mayo Clinic, one of the world's leading general hospitals, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. Med-PaLM 2 is based on ChatGPT's rival Bard and trained on Google's Large Language Model (LLM), which was launched at Google I/O just a few months ago. Unlike the base model, Med-PaLM-2 has been trained on questions and answers from medical licensing exams, along with carefully selected medical professional demos. As a result, it can provide professional answers to health-related questions and perform labor-intensive tasks such as summarizing documents and organizing research data.
