Waymo is expanding its robotaxi service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This is the first time a U.S. robotaxI operator has launched paid trips to and from an airport. The 24/7 service will run on a five-mile stretch between downtown Phoenix and the airport.

Waymo will begin with approximately a dozen vehicles in the coming months. It will map the neighborhoods of Miracle Mile, Koreatown, Santa Monica, Westwood and West Hollywood. Waymo declined to say when fully autonomous car rides will be available to the public in the country’s second largest metropolitan area.
