The UK-based quantum computing company Quantum Motion has announced its collaboration with Goldman Sachs to research the potential applications of quantum computers in the financial services sector. This study particularly focused on options pricing and explored methods to apply complex multi-qubit operations to pricing algorithms. Researchers believe that quantum computers can overcome the challenges traditional computers face when processing large amounts of data quickly or exploring various scenarios. To achieve this, they developed new methods to enhance the speed and accuracy of quantum computers. Simon Benjamin, CSO of Quantum Motion, emphasized, "For quantum computers to have a real impact in fields like finance and pharmaceuticals, they need to be able to use a large number of qubits simultaneously." The research team proposed a method of dividing the core algorithms of quantum software into several smaller tasks that can be executed simultaneously. This technology is expected to be applicable not only to financial services but also to the fields of chemistry and materials science.
