Google announced Monday that it updated NotebookLM's Video Overviews feature to support 80 languages, including French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. The feature, which allows users to turn their notes, PDFs, and images into video presentations, was previously only available in English since its launch last month. This update enables non-English speakers to create and learn from visual summaries in their preferred language, significantly expanding the tool's accessibility. Google also enhanced Audio Overviews for non-English users, which were previously limited to short summaries with full versions only available in English. Now users can access more detailed audio overviews across over 80 languages, while still maintaining the option for shorter highlights if preferred. These updates are designed to serve NotebookLM's global audience, helping users learn through video or audio summaries regardless of their language preference. The improvements are available to all users starting today and will roll out globally over the next week.
구글이 AI 연구 도구 노트북LM(NotebookLM)의 비디오 개요(Video Overviews) 기능을 80개 언어로 확장한다고 25일 발표했다. 한국어, 프랑스어, 독일어, 스페인어, 일본어 등 주요 언어를 포함해 영어 외 언어 사용자들도 노트, PDF, 이미지를 비디오 프레젠테이션으로 변환할 수 있게 됐다. 지난달 영어로만 출시됐던 비디오 개요 기능이 다국어 지원으로 확대되면서 전 세계 사용자들이 선호하는 언어로 시각적 요약을 활용할 수 있다. 오디오 개요(Audio Overviews) 기능도 개선돼 기존 영어 전용 상세 버전이 80개 이상 언어로 확장됐다. 이전에는 영어가 아닌 언어에서 짧은 요약만 제공됐지만, 이제 모든 언어에서 심층적인 개요를 받을 수 있게 됐다. 사용자가 핵심만 원할 경우 짧은 개요 옵션도 여전히 제공된다고 구글은 설명했다. 이번 업데이트는 오늘부터 모든 사용자에게 제공되며 향후 일주일에 걸쳐 전 세계적으로 순차 배포될 예정이다.
