The Taiwanese government has added China’s Huawei and semiconductor foundry SMIC to its export control list. With this measure, the two companies join existing prohibited entities such as the Taliban and al Qaeda on the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Strategic High-Tech Commodities Control List. As a result, Taiwanese companies must obtain government approval before exporting products to Huawei and SMIC.

대만 정부가 중국의 화웨이와 반도체 위탁생산업체 SMIC를 수출 통제 목록에 추가했다. 이번 조치로 두 기업은 탈레반, 알카에다 등 기존 금지 대상 단체와 함께 대만 경제부 무역국의 전략적 첨단기술 상품 통제 명단에 이름을 올렸다. 이에 따라 대만 기업들은 화웨이와 SMIC에 제품을 수출할 때 반드시 정부 승인을 받아야 한다.
