Lenovo will cut 3% of its U.S. workforce in the 2025 fiscal year. This restructuring is part of the company’s response to changing external market conditions and will result in more than 100 U.S.-based employees losing their jobs. Lenovo has about 5,100 employees in the United States, with its largest office located in North Carolina. The company has not disclosed the specific number of layoffs by state. Lenovo stated that it regularly reviews its cost structure to adapt to market changes and is implementing strategic workforce reductions in certain North American business divisions. However, the company emphasized that it will continue to invest in new businesses and AI initiatives that accelerate growth and innovation. Lenovo previously carried out major layoffs in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022. This latest restructuring comes less than a month after the company announced new AI infrastructure products and declared the beginning of the “AI PC” era.
