Microsoft is bringing AI models developed by xAI, the artificial intelligence startup founded by Elon Musk, to its Azure cloud platform. The newly added models, Grok 3 and Grok 3 mini, which were unveiled earlier this year, will be available through Microsoft's AI development platform, Azure AI Foundry. Microsoft already supports models from a wide range of AI companies, including OpenAI, Meta, and DeepSeek. With the addition of xAI’s models, Azure now offers more than 1,900 AI models. However, models from Google and Anthropic are still not included. The announcement was made during Microsoft’s annual developer conference, Build 2025. The company introduced various new products focused on managing AI agents, along with a model recommendation tool and enterprise solutions for building custom AI models using internal data. Through its partnership with OpenAI, Microsoft has secured a leading position in the AI sector and expects its AI product suite—including infrastructure and applications—to generate at least $13 billion in annual revenue.
마이크로소프트가 일론 머스크가 설립한 인공지능 스타트업 xAI의 AI 모델을 자사 클라우드 플랫폼 Azure에 도입한다. 이번에 추가되는 모델은 올해 초 공개된 ‘Grok 3’와 ‘Grok 3 mini’로, 마이크로소프트의 AI 개발 플랫폼인 Azure AI Foundry에서 제공된다. 마이크로소프트는 OpenAI, Meta, DeepSeek 등 다양한 AI 기업의 모델을 이미 지원하고 있으며, 이번 xAI의 모델 추가로 총 1,900개 이상의 모델을 제공하게 됐다. 다만 구글과 Anthropic의 모델은 아직 포함되지 않았다. 이같은 발표는 마이크로소프트의 연례 개발자 행사 ‘Build 2025’에서 이뤄졌다. 회사는 AI 에이전트 관리 도구를 중심으로 다양한 신제품을 공개했으며, AI 모델 추천 도구와 자체 모델 구축을 위한 기업용 솔루션도 함께 선보였다. 마이크로소프트는 OpenAI와의 협력을 통해 AI 분야에서 선도적 위치를 확보해 왔으며, 자사의 AI 제품군이 연간 최소 130억 달러의 수익을 낼 것으로 전망하고 있다.
