Volvo has revealed additional details about its electric sedan ES90, set to be unveiled on March 5. The ES90 is Volvo's first model to adopt an 800-volt architecture, boasting faster charging and longer driving range compared to existing Volvo electric vehicles. According to Volvo, the ES90 can gain 300km of driving range in just 10 minutes when connected to a 350kW fast-charging station, and has a maximum range of 700km based on the WLTP standard. This puts it on par with other fast-charging electric vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. The introduction of new battery management software has reduced charging time from 10% to 80% to just 20 minutes. Additionally, the ES90 incorporates a significant amount of recycled materials including aluminum, polymers, and steel, and has implemented a blockchain-based 'battery passport' system to track battery raw materials.
