Apple is extending the free usage period of its satellite connectivity features, including Emergency SOS via satellite, for iPhone 14 and 15 users by one more year. This marks the third extension since the service was launched in 2022. The offer applies to users who activated their devices in countries that support the satellite features before 12 a.m. Pacific Time on September 9, 2025. However, Armenia, Belarus, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia are excluded from the supported regions. Apple’s satellite features have expanded beyond emergency rescue to include messaging, Find My device access, and roadside assistance, operating in partnership with Globalstar.

애플이 아이폰 14와 15 사용자들을 대상으로 위성을 통한 긴급 구조 등 위성 연결 기능의 무료 이용 기간을 1년 더 연장한다. 이번 연장은 2022년 해당 서비스 출시 이후 세 번째다. 이번 혜택은 2025년 9월 9일 오전 12시(태평양 시간) 이전에 위성 기능 지원 국가에서 기기를 활성화한 사용자에게 적용된다. 다만 아르메니아, 벨라루스, 중국 본토, 홍콩, 마카오, 키르기스스탄, 카자흐스탄, 러시아는 지원 대상에서 제외됐다. 애플의 위성 기능은 긴급 구조뿐 아니라 메시지 송수신, 내 기기 찾기, 긴급 출동 지원까지 확대됐으며, 글로벌스타와 협력해 운영된다.
