Apple has unveiled the iPhone 16e, a new budget-friendly model that replaces the iPhone SE lineup. Unlike its predecessor, the iPhone 16e is positioned as part of the main iPhone 16 series lineup. The iPhone 16e features the latest A18 chip and Apple’s first in-house developed modem, the C1. It comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display and a single rear 48MP camera capable of 2x lossless zoom. This new model supports Apple’s latest AI technology, "Apple Intelligence," and includes Face ID and a USB-C port. It also offers satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS and location tracking services. Apple claims that the iPhone 16e delivers "the best battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone," outperforming the iPhone 11 by up to six hours and all generations of the iPhone SE by up to 12 hours. The iPhone 16e will be available in white and black, with prices starting at $599 for the 128GB model in the U.S. Pre-orders begin on February 21, with an official release date set for February 28.
