Apple is introducing an AI-powered App Store review summary feature with the iOS 18.4 update. Currently in public beta, this feature utilizes Apple's proprietary AI technology, 'Apple Intelligence', to comprehensively summarize user app reviews. The review summaries are generated through large language models (LLMs), providing key information in concise paragraphs. This feature will initially launch in English in the United States, with plans to gradually expand to other markets and languages. However, concerns have been raised that the introduction of this feature could exacerbate the problem of fake reviews. There is a possibility that some developers might generate a large number of false reviews to obtain positive AI summaries. In addition to this, Apple plans to add expanded Apple Intelligence language support, Apple Intelligence access for EU users, and Visual Intelligence features for the iPhone 15 Pro in iOS 18.4. These new features are expected to be available to general users when the official release launches in April.
