OpenAI has announced plans to launch the “OpenAI Jobs Platform,” an AI-powered hiring service aimed for release in mid-2026. The platform will match businesses with job seekers using AI and is expected to compete directly with LinkedIn. The company says it will introduce a dedicated track for small businesses and local governments to access AI talent and will also provide AI fluency certifications through its OpenAI Academy program. Partnering with Walmart, OpenAI aims to certify 10 million Americans by 2030. Despite concerns that AI could dramatically disrupt traditional jobs, OpenAI says its vision is to create a new employment ecosystem that connects talent with the companies that need it.
