Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recently sold 3.3 million shares of his company, cashing out approximately $737 million. This sale is part of a prearranged trading plan that allows him to sell up to 25 million shares by May 2026. Although Bezos stepped down as CEO in 2021, he remains the chairman of the board and continues to be Amazon’s largest individual shareholder. Bezos has regularly sold Amazon stock to fund his space venture Blue Origin and to support his nonprofit, Day 1 Academies. This latest stock sale took place shortly after he held a lavish wedding with Lauren Sanchez in Venice, estimated to have cost around $50 million. Currently, Bezos is ranked as the world’s third-richest person, with a net worth of about $240 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
