Purpose Investments, which launched the world’s first spot Bitcoin ETF in Canada, is now introducing a spot XRP ETF. The Purpose XRP ETF is set to begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker ‘XRPP’ on June 18, following final approval of its prospectus by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). The launch of this ETF provides investors with a new way to gain exposure to XRP, the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, through traditional financial accounts. Following the news, the price of XRP surged nearly 7% in 24 hours, outperforming Bitcoin and the CoinDesk 20 Index. Purpose Investments previously launched the world’s first spot Bitcoin ETF in Canada in 2021, and with the introduction of the XRP ETF, the company has once again demonstrated Canada’s leadership in the digital asset market.
캐나다에서 세계 최초 현물 비트코인 ETF를 출시한 퍼포즈 인베스트먼트(Purpose Investments)가 이번에는 XRP 현물 ETF를 선보인다. 퍼포즈 XRP ETF는 6월 18일 토론토 증권거래소에서 ‘XRPP’라는 티커로 거래를 시작할 예정이다. 온타리오 증권위원회(OSC)가 투자설명서를 최종 승인하면서 출시가 확정됐다. 이번 ETF 출시는 투자자들에게 시가총액 4위 암호화폐인 XRP에 전통 금융계좌를 통해 투자할 수 있는 새로운 길을 열어주게 됐다. 소식이 전해진 뒤 XRP 가격은 24시간 만에 7% 가까이 급등해 비트코인과 코인데스크 20 지수 상승률을 웃돌았다. 퍼포즈 인베스트먼트는 2021년 세계 최초로 현물 비트코인 ETF를 캐나다에서 출시한 바 있으며, 이번 XRP ETF 출시로 캐나다의 디지털 자산 시장 리더십을 다시 한 번 입증했다.
